Early Childhood Music Class The Early Childhood Music Class is an exciting program which incorporates rhythm, language, movement, solfege and simple instruments. Using the Orff, Kodály and Laban approaches to music education, this class prepares your child for piano lessons. Classes meet 45 minutes per week, Class size is limited. Great Composers Class I, II, III In the Great Composers Class Levels I and II we study the lives and music of 34 great composers including Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Clara Schumann, Scott Joplin and more! Level III is an in depth study of two of your favorite composers. The text used is Meet the Great Composers, Vol. I & II by June Montgomery and Maurice Henson. Classes meet one hour per week. Voice Emphasis is placed on proper breathing techniques, intonation, vowel sounds, articulation, attack and release, etc. Sacred music, folk songs, art songs and the like are studied and performed. Receive information about Voice Instruction Music for Learning Music for Learning is a new and exciting program for children who need creative approaches to learning basic skills in academic subjects. It incorporates the child's Four Step Learning Process using the Orff, Kodály and Laban approaches. "The child's way of learning is muscular, sensory, creative and emotional... Children use their entire brain, muscles, senses and imagination. These are the tools that can turn on the ignition of their vast learning power." Grace Nash The text used is The Child's Way of Learning by Grace Nash. This class can be adapted for children with special needs. Group class size is limited to 3 students on the same learning level. Classes meet 30 or 45 minutes per week. |
